Valentino Fall/Winter '16

Now that fashion month has (unfortunately) come to a close, it gives us time to reflect on the upcoming season and what exactly we should expect to see in stores this fall. I’m certainly excited for all the velvet, bare shoulders, and  copious amounts of head to toe mixed prints this season promises to bring! One of my favorite shows from Paris Fashion Week was without a doubt Valentino’s. The dazzling ballet inspired collection consisted of an excess of tulle, muted colors, and simple flowing silhouettes. I especially loved how they incorporated this ballet motif through layer tutu inspired dresses over turtlenecks. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli expressed to VOGUE how this collection was a deeper commentary on slowing down amidst our fast paced world and living in the moment. "We always think fashion is cultural, not just about delivering clothes,” said Chiuri. “We want this show to be about living your moments, feeling each moment uniquely."
